The rules
- EU/EASA rules: one-time operator registration valid EU-wide; operator ID label on the aircraft.
- Sub-250 g: Open A1 — up to 120 m, VLOS, not over assemblies of people.
- Heavier drones without class marks: A3 — 150 m from residential/commercial/industrial/recreational areas.
- Lisbon: the airport CTR covers most of the city — authorization needed; check the ANAC/eAIP map before any urban flight.
- Madeira and the Azores have additional protected-area restrictions.
